The next version of Directory Service Comparison Tool (DSCT) will be able to restore values from a snapshot to Active Directory on Windows Server 2008. The new features are implemented but some more work in the user friendliness department is needed before it’s ready for release.

Some action shots of the goodness

1. Deleted OU as seen in DSCT. Several attributes have missing values since only a select few are retained after a delete operation.

Deleted OU matched to its former self in the snapshot

2. Reanimated OU as seen in DSCT. You choose which attributes to restore by checking the checkboxes.

Reanimated OU stripped down to the bare bones attribute wise

3. The end. Note the restored GPO link, among other things :)
